New Os for Mobiles

Finnish smartphone company Jolla and e-commerce marketplace Snapdeal today announcedhip to lthe Jolla smartphone in India.
Jolla is a new Finnish smartphone running its independent operating system, Sailfish OS. Based on the heritage of Meego, an open source operating system formerly developed by Nokia among others.
The Jolla smartphone with its distinct button-less design, Sailfish OS gesture-based user experience, and Android application compatibility will be available in India exclusively on Snapdeal within a month, the company said in a statement.
“India is the rising smartphone market of the world and we look forward to welcoming many new Jolla fans across the country,: said Sami Pienimäki, co-founder and CMO of Jolla, which was founded in 2011.
Kunal Bahl, co-founder & CEO, Snapdeal, said: “Indian market offers few choices in terms of mobile operating systems. Jolla with its innovative Sailfish OS introduces an entirely new user experience to consumers and a unique smartphone experience both in terms of hardware and software.”
The Jolla smartphone was introduced in Finland in late-November 2013. Currently Jolla smartphones are available all over Europe, and soon in India.

Dont buy a smartphone till october

Google plans to launch its first Android One phone in October
Google to launch the first affordable $100 Android One phone in October, plans to spend Rs 100 Crore on the program.
Google announced Android One platform at its Google I/O conference, under which the internet giant plans to bring affordable smartphones priced under $100 in emerging markets. Now according to reports Google is set to launch the first Android One smartphone in October this year in India.
Google aims to reach 5 billion people in emerging markets like India and Indonesia with its Android One devices. The handsets will be updated directly by Google similar to the Google Play editions and Nexus smartphones. The internet giant will also provide hardware and software reference points, while manufacturers will be able to put in their own apps in the devices.
Google mentioned that Micromax will be first Android One device priced at $100 and according to sources may be launched exclusively on Flipkart. Google added that the device will have a 4.5 inch display screen, expandable memory, dual sim capabilities and integrated FM Radio. Pichai stated at the Google I/O conference that Android One devices will come with Play Auto Installs, that tells users which apps are recommended for his smartphone.
According to reports, Google is teaming up with chipmaker MediaTek for its new Android One platform. DigiTimes states that the companies have been in talks for platform for the last six months. Google has also tied up with domestic handset makers Spice, Karbonn, Intex and Celkon to launch smartphones.
The internet giant is planning to invest Rs 100 Crore on marketing and advertising on the Android One program in India and plans to launch devices around the Diwali festival season. Google's Senior VP in charge of Android, Chrome and Apps, Sundar Pichai is expected to visit India for the Android One program and then further details would be available.
